 hat impact our safety and our health. Common mental health issues (depress
 ion\, PTSD\, suicidality\, anxiety\, addictions) are often exacerbated by 
 domestic/intimate partner violence. Intimate partner violence may also red
 uce the effectiveness of community health services by disconnecting victim
 s/survivors from personal and professional support systems. Mental/behavio
 ral health service providers have a unique connection with service recipie
 nts\, and can play an important role in identifying\, addressing\, and pre
 venting domestic and intimate partner violence.\n\n\nThrough this training
 \, participants will:\n\n- Gain a foundational overview of the dynamics an
 d prevalence of domestic violence and trauma.\n- Explore the intersections
  of domestic violence\, trauma\, and mental health\, and some of the barri
 ers that service recipients may experience to seeking help.\n- Learn and p
 ractice intervention strategies and effective advocacy skills that support
  safety and empowerment with their service recipients.\n- Become familiar 
 with local community resources where individuals can receive additional se
 rvices.\n \n\n<b>This introductory training is geared toward mental/behavi
 oral health providers\, substance abuse treatment providers\, social worke
 rs\, and therapists.</b>  \n\nThis course\, Complex Connections: The Inter
 section of Domestic Violence\, Trauma\, and Mental Health \, Approval #202
 392723-2\, provided by Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence is app
 roved for continuing education by the NASW-DE Continuing Education Approva
 l Collaborative. CE Approval Collaborative Approval Period: Wednesday\, Se
 ptember 27\, 2023 through January 31\, 2025. Delaware social workers will 
 receive 3 general CE credits for participating in this course.\n\n\n\n \n<
