 vocacy</b>\nThis course is designed to provide an overview of Delaware Fam
 ily Court custody and visitation matters with an emphasis on assisting sur
 vivors of domestic abuse.  We will discuss the differences between legal c
 ustody and physical custody\, primary residence\, and visitation and allow
  time to answer questions from attendees.  Our learning objective is to as
 sist attendees with knowledge of the custody and visitation process in Del
 aware\, with an emphasis on the “best interest of the child” factors so th
 at they may best serve their clients who are seeking to file petitions eit
 her on their own or with the assistance of an attorney or non-profit agenc
 y. \n\n<b>Presenter:</b> Kathryn van Amerongen\, Community Legal Aid Socie
 ty\, Inc. (CLASI)\nKathryn van Amerongen is a supervising attorney in CLAS
 I’s Medical Legal Partnership Program where she has worked for the past 3+
  years handling Family Court cases on behalf of domestic violence survivor
 s.  Prior to her tenure at CLASI\, Kathryn served as the Homicide Unit Chi
 ef at the Delaware Office of Defense Services for 23 years and as a Deputy
  Attorney General at the Delaware Department of Justice for 7 years.  She 
 teaches Judicial Procedure and Mental Health Law in the Behavioral Health 
 and Science Graduate Program at Wilmington University.\n\n<b>Prerequisite 
 Training</b>\nRegistrants must have attended DV101 or have foundational un
 derstanding of domestic violence and Protection from Abuse Orders.  If you
