Advocacy & Policy Work

Build your advocacy skills

On January 26, 2022, DCADV hosted a virtual event on "Building Effective Advocacy."  This event provided advocates, community members, and changemakers to learn more about how to effectively advocate on a variety of social justice issues.

FY22 Legislative Summary

The 151th Delaware General Assembly closed out early in the morning on July 1, 2022.  Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence remained active throughout the session, with a final bill regarding domestic violence being heard at 1:30am on July 1st.  DCADV had many legislative priorities to reduce and prevent domestic violence in Delaware.

We support policies, programs, and laws that align with DCADV’s mission and goals of ending domestic violence. We work with survivors and community partners to better understand what is needed most to help victims of abuse find safety, healing, and justice. We believe that preventing domestic violence is possible, and work with community partners across the state to achieve that goal.

DCADV’s philosophies guide our work. We believe that our work to end domestic violence is best achieved through local and national collaboration, direct services, community education, and political action. We encourage the participation of all persons and groups who are committed to the movement to end domestic violence, and invite you to learn more about our work.
