DCADV has two options for online training.
- Self-paced courses: Through these online training modules, you can learn at your own pace and gain some of the foundational skills needed for service response.
- Webinars: These trainings are longer, typically running between 60-90 minutes. Webinars are often presented to a live audience, and recorded for future viewing.
Foundations of Domestic Violence
This self-paced training consists of five lessons and serves as an introduction to the dynamics of domestic violence. Each lesson includes a video recording and downloadable handouts. You must complete a short quiz before moving on to the next lesson. To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete all lessons and the course evaluation quiz.

Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care
This self-paced training module consists of four lessons and serves as an introduction to trauma/trauma-informed care. Each lesson includes a video recording and downloadable handouts. You must complete a short quiz before moving on to the next lesson. To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete all lessons and the course evaluation quiz.
- Lesson 1: What is trauma? (16 minutes)
- Lesson 2: Trauma and the brain (15 minutes)
- Lesson 3: Trauma and service engagement (18 minutes)
- Lesson 4: A trauma-informed approach to intervention (15 minutes)
Foundations of Prevention
Foundations of Prevention consists of five lessons and serves as an introduction to gender-based violence prevention strategies. Each lesson includes a video recording and some include downloadable handouts. You must complete a short quiz before moving on to the next lesson. To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete all lessons and the course evaluation quiz.

Making the Connection: Responding and Referring to Domestic Violence Services
Health care providers and community health workers have a unique connection with service recipients, and can play a big role in identifying, addressing, and preventing domestic and intimate partner violence. Making the Connection consists of six lessons that provide an overview of the dynamics and prevalence of domestic violence, and teach effective advocacy skills that support safety and empowerment with their service recipients. Each lesson includes a video recording and some include downloadable handouts. You must complete a short quiz before moving on to the next lesson. To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete all lessons and the course evaluation quiz.

This course, Making the Connection: Responding and Referring to Domestic Violence Services, Approval #062725-02, provided by Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence is approved for continuing education by the NASW-DE Continuing Education Approval Collaborative. CE Approval Collaborative Approval Period: Friday, June 27, 2025 through January 31, 2026. Delaware social workers will receive 2.5 CE credits for participating in this course.
