Building a Future: Healthy Financial Relationships, Personal Finance Basics, and Navigating Financial Institutions
Creating financial stability can be daunting, but there are experts available to help us navigate this complicated world. Join us for a four-part training series, hosted by the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCADV) and the Delaware Money School, to learn more about budgeting, credit scores, creating and maintaining financial stability, navigating financial institutions, and practicing health financial relationships. This series will be held every Wednesday in April from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Session 1: Wednesday, April 6, 2022; 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Setting the Stage: The History of Modern Financial Institutions and the Importance of a Healthy Financial Relationship
The opening session of this series will prep participants for future sessions on managing personal finances. Presenters will discuss how historical contexts influence the way modern-day financial institutions operate and how they impact personal finances. The presenters will close with discussing how healthy financial relationships can be crucial to managing finances.
Session 2: Wednesday, April 13, 2022; 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
There is a Hole in My Pocket
The second session will explore why and how money finds its way out of our pockets and what we can do about it. The presenter will discuss the logistics of creating a budget and strategies for building savings.
Session 3: Wednesday, April 20, 2022; 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Best Thing Money Can Buy
What is financial freedom? This session will explore the concept of financial freedom and discuss the many obstacles in our way when it comes to our financial lives. Participants will walk away with varying techniques on how to overcome financial obstacles.
Session 4: Wednesday, April 27, 2022; 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Crack the Credit Code
The final session in this series will discuss credit, credit scores, and credit reports. The presenter will review the various credit tools available and how to use them.
Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions. Registrants will receive the Zoom link to each session the day before at the email provided in registration, and will also receive a FREE financial care package at completion of the series! (if a valid mailing address is provided at registration - it is not required to register for the series). Recordings and electronic materials will also be made available to registered participants.
