Money Buddies- Creating Healthy Relationships with Money

Creating a money-plan can be tricky, but experts are available to help! Join the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCADV) for a FREE four-part workshop at the Milford Public Library. We'll talk about how credit scores work, making a budget & sticking to it, working with banks, building financial stability, and creating healthy relationships with money.

When: Four-part series, each Monday in April from 11 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.

Session 1: Monday, April 3, 2023; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Setting the Stage: The History of Modern Banking and Working with Significant Others to Manage Money
The opening session of this series will prep us for future sessions. We will discuss how history has influenced the way modern-day banks work and how they impact personal management of money. We will close with chatting about how to practice healthy relationships with a significant other when money management is involved.

Session 2: Monday, April 10, 2023; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Money Basics

The second session will explore money management, budget and savings, and banking options. We will review tips and tricks for savings, and practice with a hands-on budget activity!

Session 3: Monday, April 17, 2023; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Nuts and Bolts of Credit

What is credit and why is it important? During this session, we will find out what credit is, how to understand our credit history, and what effects credit scores.

Session 4: Monday, April 24, 2023; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Planning for the Future

The final session in this series will discuss preparing for large purchases, such as paying for college or purchasing a home, opting-in for a 401K retirement savings, how to invest, and what to do with our money for the future. We will also explore some options to help us meet our long-term money goals.
