Advocates' Retreat and Conference
Presenter Information

We are so thankful that you'll be joining us at this year's Advocates' Retreat and Conference!  We appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and expertise with Delaware's domestic violence advocacy community.

Registration

We're asking all presenters to register for the conference, even if you don't plan on attending any workshop sessions.  The information you provide will help us to better allocate space, meals, and resources to make your experience as smooth as possible.

You are welcome to participate in the conference on the date of your presentation, including all workshop and plenary sessions, and any meals and snack breaks offered that day. If you are interested in attending the day of the conference when you won’t be presenting, you may register at a discounted rate of $70.00.

Lodging

DCADV will reserve lodging for presenters as indicated in your presenter agreement. We'll send you a confirmation and information for check in once we receive it from the hotel.  You are welcome to stay additional nights (at your expense) at the discounted rate of $161.35/night (includes taxes/fees). If you plan on staying any nights beyond what DCADV will be covering on the master account, please notify us on your presenter agreement and via email (training@dcadv.org) so we can ensure proper billing.  Our group rate is in effect for stays from 5/4/24 - 5/8/24.

Workshop Rooms and Supplies

Each workshop room will be equipped with a laptop (PC) with Internet connection, speakers, screen, slide advancer, and an easel with flip chart and markers.  Microphones will be available in the larger meeting rooms. If you have additional equipment or supply needs, please indicate contact DCADV as soon as possible.

All rooms will be set up classroom-style (rows of tables/chairs), unless otherwise requested. The workshop rooms comfortably accommodate approximately 30-35 participants. Please plan activities for up to 40 participants. DCADV will notify the presenter with the final number of anticipated attendees approximately two weeks prior to the event.

Plenary/keynote sessions will be held in the ballroom, and all conference participants (approximately 125 people) are invited to attend. The ballroom will be set up with round tables of 8. The space is equipped with all the same A/V equipment as the workshop rooms, plus a podium and microphone.

All presentations will be pre-loaded onto the computers in the workshop rooms. DCADV will provide attendees with a private link to access conference materials online. We ask that all presenters submit some form of handout or notes for participants to reference at/after the conference (i.e. slide handouts, resource lists, etc.). If there are materials that you will need participants to have as hard copies during the presentation, DCADV can print them for you. To minimize any technical problems and ensure equipment/presentation compatibility, please send PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and/or other media to training@dcadv.org no later than May 1, 2024.
