IPV and Social Determinants of Health: What's the Connection?

  • Recorded January 2025; 36-55 minutes
Title: Intimate Partner Violence and Social Determinants of Health

The Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence envisions a First State where safe, healthy, equitable relationships, families and communities thrive.  For years, we have partnered with likeminded individuals and organizations who are working to prevent violence and get to the root causes of harm so that we can achieve this vision of a safer Delaware.  Research and experience show us that domestic violence is linked to other harms and inequities created by social and structural conditions in our society.   This series of webinars describes the Social Determinants of Health- the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks(1)- and identifies how addressing these conditions helps to prevent domestic violence and creates a safer world for all.
