Complex Connections: Domestic Violence, Mental Health, and Trauma (Part 1)

Monday, September 18, 2023
10:00 am12:30 pm

Intimate partner and sexual violence are major social issues that impact our safety and our health. Common mental health issues (depression, PTSD, suicidality, anxiety, addictions) are often exacerbated by domestic/ intimate partner violence. Intimate partner violence may also reduce the effectiveness of community health services by disconnecting victims/survivors from personal and professional support systems. Mental health service providers have a unique connection with service recipients, and can play an important role in identifying, addressing, and preventing domestic and intimate partner violence.

This introductory training is geared toward mental/behavioral health providers, substance abuse treatment providers, social workers, and therapists.
