Domestic Violence 101 (virtual series)

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9/10/20-9/29/20
Virtual

We have reached our capacity for this training event and have started a waiting list. If you are interested in attending, you may sign up on the waiting list and you will be contacted if/when space becomes available.

DV101 is DCADV's signature training event and attracts a multidisciplinary audience from across the state. Participants typically include domestic violence service providers, nonprofit organizations, law enforcement agencies, and state employees working on issues ranging from behavioral health services to human resources to the criminal justice system. DV101 provides an overview of the dynamics and prevalence of domestic violence, and teaches participants effective advocacy skills that support safety and empowerment across systems.

The Fall 2020 session of DV101 will be held virtually through the month of September. Our goal is to integrate the same concepts, information, and resource connections that would be part of our face-to-face training. This virtual series incorporates a combination of self-study (recorded webinars with associated activities) and live instruction. Live instruction will be held via Zoom.

By registering for this training event, you are registering for the entire series. All registered participants will receive connection information, instructions for self-study activities, and a detailed course schedule approximately two weeks prior to the first training date. In order to access and fully engage in the training, participants will need a device with internet connection, microphone/speakers (through computer or device, or through the phone), and webcam (optional, but strongly recommended).
